Kokeshis are traditional wooden dolls with a very minimalist shape.
They are originated from the Northern Honshu, in the Tohoku region.
Each artist's family has its own style and patterns which are transmitted from father to son.
The sosaku kokeshis are creations which are distinguished from the traditional styles.
